“read and SPEAK” is a reading and media group that aims to create a safe space for adoptees to engage with each other in conversation about the historical context and sociopolitical issues related to the adoptee diaspora. No prior study of any adoption-related subjects is required, but a commitment to centering and respecting adoptee voices is.
“read and SPEAK” works to plan regular reading groups based on specific topics (Birth Mothers, Adoptees of Color, North Korea, etc) as well as special events, including screenings of adoptee-centered and adoptee-created films.
If you are interested in leading a reading group or organizing a screening or workshop, please contact us at email@example.com.
